About Your Agent

Cati is a long-time DC resident who first came to the Nation's capital as a foreign correspondent for a German newspaper.  She fell in love with this complex city, stayed and bought her first DC home in 1995.  Her initial interest in the city’s real estate was closely tied to a curiosity about history and social issues.  She found later that she loved the service part of the business--helping people find or sell houses in the best, smoothest and most exciting ways possible. 

Cati is intimately familiar with all parts of town and with all aspects of life in DC and the Maryland suburbs.  She has sold houses, condos and co-ops in all four quadrants of the city as well as in close-in Montgomery County.  This has long made her a true local expert and a real estate professional you can have confidence in. Cati has successfully worked with a wide range of clients and customers, from first-time home buyers to seniors who have decided to downsize to something more comfortable, from DC natives to international clients.  Together with her family, husband Chuck Lane, a legal reporter for the Washington Post, and their three children, she recently moved to a new home in Chevy Chase, MD.  They had lived in a Northwest DC rowhouse for the previous 11 years and the experience of selling and buying for themselves made Cati once more appreciate all the upheaval her clients are going through all the time!
